Issue Position

As the executive director of the Center for Marriage Policy, Cynthia Davis has been working to try to strengthen the institution of marriage. High divorce rates have undermined the economic strength of the middle-class and made it more difficult to raise families out of poverty. We need to strengthen, not weaken, the traditional institution of marriage. Davis will work to strike bad public policies from our lawbooks that have incentivized divorce and encouraged out-of-wedlock childbearing.
